Fifteen years ago I bought my first home - I had an aromatherapy ‘house warming’ party. Having always loved everything natural I was able to pursue a career in Alternative Therapies after my second child was born.
Suffering with post natal depression I found myself struggling with day to day life – my doctor instructed me to focus on something of real interest. It was during this time that I studied and qualified as an Holistic Therapist, having also researched the supposedly 'natural' ingredients in the majority of the off-the-shelf baby cosmetics, and being a qualified Aromatherapist I decided to blend my own using plant based organic ingredients and organic essentials oils , the Naturally Wight Skincare range came about through clients showing an interest in the products that I blended.
I aim to use raw materials which are environmentally friendly and as natural as possible. I therefore try to source materials that come from renewable sources and through their life-cycle (production, processing, use and disposal) should NOT damage or pollute the environment. Where possible I source ORGANIC raw materials. I aim to use Natural or recycled/recyclable packaging materials whenever possible
Products are tested on friends, family and husbands. I do not support the testing of raw materials for cosmetics on animals and only buy materials from reputable suppliers with the same ethos and who guarantee that they have not been tested on animals (or at least guarantee not tested on animals after 1996, therefore operating a fixed cut-off date system. I do not use raw materials that have been derived from the petroleum industry.
My products are formulated for people with sensitive skin but as a common sense precaution I recommend a patch test is carried out at least 24 hours prior to your first application either on the inside upper arm or behind the ear.
I GUARANTEE THE FOLLOWING:
Between 60% and 80% of my products are made from local natural spring water.
Moisturising, nourishing, softening and protecting VEGETABLE OILS & WAXES extracted from nuts, seeds, fruits and leaves.
PURE ESSENTIAL OILS are used in Naturally Wight Products.
FLORAL WATERS obtained from steam distillation.
Natural VITAMIN E - from sunflowers and other vitamins.
ORGANIC ALOE VERA CONCENTRATE
MF/VE EMULSIFIER - to which enables oil & water to mix. These vegetable based emulsifiers are used in the food industry in vegan ice-cream & mayonnaise – produced from Lactic acid, vegetable based stearic acid, Coconut and Palm kernel oil.
VEGETABLE BASED Humectants (moisturisers that keep the skin soft and pliable by retaining water and binding it into the skin).
When required I use between 0.5% and 1.5% PRESERVATIVE K The most natural preservative used by TRUE GREEN COSMETIC COMPANIES Worldwide.
DETERGENTS - for shampoos and shower gels, are sourced from Coconut and Palm Kernal Oil
